James Braun's work has appeared and is forthcoming in Fiction International, the Minnesota Review, failbetter, Camas, SmokeLong Quarterly, and elsewhere. His short story "Clay," published in the Rectangle, won the Herbert L. Hughes Short Story Award. He is currently an MFA fiction candidate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
